Some of the most common modern threats to life include. fires. In an increasing number of cases, we may encounter fire in our places of work or in our homes. We are not aware of the fire safety flaws present there.
Fire protection passages are elements installed in buildings that, when properly secured, are intended to reduce the risk of fire spreading over time. This is generally understood as protection of the entire building and protection of installation passages (wires, electrical cables, etc.) located in walls or ceilings. Through properly selected fire safety passages, we can make our building protect itself from a sudden outbreak of fire.
In addition, an important element of fire protection is all kinds of panels with fireproofing properties, which increase the load-bearing capacity of the building during a fire. Systems that have fireproof panels in their design are characterized by good insulation parameters and high fire tightness. This provides effective cover in case of fire. Such panels in their range are available from companies such as RIGIPS, SINIAT, KNAUF, with which we cooperate, having a designation in the names F or DF.
Intumescent paints and fireproof sprays are also used in the construction industry to achieve the appropriate fire resistance class R, and help delay the occupation of a material by fire, such as steel by increasing their fire resistance. They are characterized by very high durability and quality. Intumescent paints help level the effects of rising temperatures by inhibiting the penetration of heat and oxygen into the substrate. They are mainly used in public spaces with the task of protecting the steel structures of the building.
Referring to the above, we can already see how important it is to install fire protection systems for passageways and installation penetrations, since, if properly executed, they prevent a possible fire from reaching other floors, thus making it easier to find the fire focus and extinguish it.
Our services include fire protection systems:
- fire alarms
- fire closures
- smoke removal
- Shut-off dampers
- Batteries for the control panel
- Emergency and evacuation lighting
The fire alarm system allows the immediate recognition of a fire. When it is detected, a fire alarm is automatically sounded. The main components of this system are detectors and control panels.
A very important function is performed by the smoke ventilation system – it allows air to be exchanged at the time of a fire. Pollutants in the form of smoke are removed from the building’s stairwells, and fresh air is brought in instead.
Shut-off dampers are also helpful – installed in ventilation systems during a fire, they interrupt the air supply, preventing smoke and other toxic substances from entering zones not covered by the fire.
There is also a fire closure system, which divides fire zones into smaller ones by means of doors, fire curtains or gates.
